丹之寶於2025台南藝術博覽會以「汲古求新:古典新貌」為主題策展,本次展覽將呈現喜馬拉雅藝術家Zimbiri、Gyempo Wangchuk、 Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee、Shraddha Shrestha、Sunny Sahil Bhopal等橫跨不丹、印度及西藏地區藝術家,與台灣藝術家洪永欣、柯鱗晏、蔡名璨、蕭博駿、陳薇因、陳帟覠等藝術家的創作,內容涵括平面繪畫、水墨及雕塑,在呈現多層次的視覺體驗的同時,將傳統文化與當代藝術的創新精神融合的精神、與台南的城市文化背景呼應,展覽不僅是對過去經驗的回顧,也是對未來的展望與探索。

特別介紹印度籍藏裔藝術家 Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee,2024年首屆魯賓美術館喜馬拉雅藝術大獎得主。此獎項旨在鼓勵創作具有前瞻性、反映喜馬拉雅文化特性的藝術作品。Gyurmey 擅長將全球性議題轉化為具體的日常經驗,他的生命歷程從藏區流徙至印度,交織著移民身份與喜馬拉雅文化的共同經歷。受美式文化影響,Gyurmey將卡通和漫畫元素融入創作,通過層疊與刮除壓克力顏料技法,打造出獨特的肌理效果,並與畫作中的空白相呼應,讓觀眾在畫中重拾記憶與情感,為他贏得國際關注。

Tansbao is participating in the 2025 Art Tainan, with the theme “Classics Reimagined: A New Vision of Tradition”. The exhibition will showcase artists from the Himalayan region, including Zimbiri、Gyempo Wangchuk、 Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee、Shraddha Shrestha、Sunny Sahil Bhopal, alongside Taiwanese artists like Hong Yong Xin, Ke Lin Yen, Tsai Ming Tsan, Hsiao Po Chun, Chen Wei Yin, and Chen Yi Jun. The exhibition not only reflects on the past but also serves as a platform for exploring and envisioning the future, in harmony with Tainan’s cultural heritage.

A highlight will be Himalayan artist Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee, winner of the 2024 Rubin Museum Himalayan Art Prize . This award recognizes artists whose work captures the spirit of the Himalayan region with a forward-thinking vision. Gyurmey distills global issues into everyday experiences, blending his immigrant identity with the region’s shared history. Influenced by American culture, he incorporates American elements into his art. Through layering and scraping acrylic paint on raw burlap, he creates unique textures, engaging with blank spaces to evoke absence and memory, establishing him as a rising star in Himalayan art.

 

 

Tansbao will curate the 2025 Art Tainan Expo under the theme “Drawing from the Past, Seeking the New: Classical Reinterpretations.” The exhibition will showcase artists from the Himalayan region, including Zimbiri、Gyempo Wangchuk、 Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee、Shraddha Shrestha、Sunny Sahil Bhopal, alongside Taiwanese artists like Hong Yong Xin, Ke Lin Yen, Tsai Ming Tsan, Hsiao Po Chun, Chen Wei Yin, and Chen Yi Jun. Their works—spanning painting, ink art, and sculpture—offer a multi-layered visual experience that blends traditional culture with the innovative spirit of contemporary art. The exhibition not only reflects on the past but also serves as a platform for exploring and envisioning the future, in harmony with Tainan’s cultural heritage.

A special highlight will be Indian-born Tibetan artist Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee, who is the recipient of the 2024 inaugural Rubin Museum Himalayan Art Award. This award is given to artists whose work reflects the unique characteristics of the Himalayan region and demonstrates a forward-thinking vision. Gyurmey is adept at distilling global issues into tangible everyday experiences. As a transnational citizen of the Himalayan culture, his own life trajectory, shaped by constant migration, brings encounters and separations, intertwining his identity as an immigrant with the shared experiences of the Himalayan region. Influenced by American culture, Gyurmey incorporates elements of American cartoons and comics into his works. Using layering and scraping techniques with acrylic paint on raw burlap, he creates unique texture effects and dialogues with the extensive blank spaces in his paintings. This interplay allows the fragmented absences to reunite with beautiful memories on the canvas, leaving space for viewers to imagine and interpret, positioning him as an internationally acclaimed rising star in Himalayan art.
